Su parte superior, colgada, se reviste de una doble capa de vidrio. De noche será como un faro. También de noche, luces trepadoras mostrarán la presencia y consistencia del edificio (obra de la artista Silvia Hornig). Todo el volumen se descompone en piezas diversas unificadas formal y estructuralmente por el macizo núcleo de comunicaciones de hormigón aparente. Una de estas piezas recuerda la fachada Sur del CCIB. Es como una muestra de lo que sucede al otro lado de la gran sala, hacia el mar. El edificio se pega en sus primeras plantas al volumen del CCIB. Ello provoca la aparición de patios. Uno de ellos, longitudinal, genera un corte tangencial que será una selva. El otro, central, provoca el movimiento de la fachada hacia la calle. En su fondo hay piedras blancas reflectantes.

Its suspended upper part is covered in double-glazing. By night it will be like a lighthouse. Also at night, climbing lights will show the presence and consistency of the building (work of the artist Silvia Hornig). The whole volume can be broken down into different pieces, joined formally and structurally by the solid exposed reinforced concrete communications core. One of these pieces recalls the South façade of the CCIB. It is like a sampling of what is happening on the other side of the main hall, towards the sea. On the lower floors, the building abuts the volume of the CCIB. That engenders courtyards. One of the latter, longitudinal, generates a tangential cut that will be planted with trees. The other, central, provokes the streetward movement of the façade. At the back of the former there are white reflective rocks. |
