Josep Lluís Mateo Arquitecto desde 1974 y Doctor en arquitectura (1994) por la Escola Tècnica Superior d'Arquitectura de Barcelona (España).

Dirigió durante una década (1981-1990) la revista Quaderns d'Arquitectura i Urbanisme. En este período la revista fue galardonada con los premios ACCA, Laus, Ciutat de Barcelona y por la Unión Internacional de Arquitectos (UIA).

Mateo combina su actividad profesional con la académica. Desde octubre de 2002 es Catedrático de Arquitectura y Proyectos en la ETH de Zürich y profesor invitado en diversas instituciones europeas y norteamericanas.

MAP Architects Creado en 1991 en Barcelona, el estudio de arquitectura MAP Architects está bajo la dirección de Josep Lluís Mateo y Marta Cervelló (desde 1995).

Mateo combines professional and academic activities. Since October 2002 he is Professor at the Federal Politechnic School in Zurich (ETH) and he has been Guest Professor in a number of European and American Institutions.
